The Office of the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) has selected seven ICT (information and communications technology) initiatives out of over 40 suggestions received from ICT units across the United Nations Secretariat. These initiatives, known as Fast Forward (FF) Initiatives, were selected by the CITO, Mr. Choi Soon-hong, and ICT managers throughout the Secretariat based on their ability to deliver high impact, user-focused solutions in 90 days or less.
FF initiative leads coordinate work and ensure timely delivery of results. While team members for some initiatives have been suggested, any ICT personnel interested in participating in the selected initiatives are encouraged to contact the lead for details on how you can contribute. UN personnel outside the ICT community can also participate in an initiative at the invitation of ICT personnel.
The seven FF Initiatives selected are listed below and this link provides detailed information.
- Enterprise Feedback Management System
- UN Online Call Management
- iSeek Global Access
- Member State Portal
- Shared resources on Lotus Notes
- ICT Greening
- Document Subscription Service
The results of each initiative will be widely shared within the global ICT community as well as throughout the Secretariat. Qualified initiatives may also be submitted for consideration in the UN 21 Awards process. Once these initiatives are completed, the Office of the CITO will select a set of new initiatives from a second round of suggestions for the ICT Fast Forward Programme.
