The United Nations Office at Nairobi's Information and Communications Technology Service (UNON/ICTS) has just implemented myIMIS portal, which provides self-service access to IMIS data for UN Environment Programme (UNEP), UN-Habitat and UNON staff members whenever and wherever it suits them.
The portal was developed as part of the Chief Information Technology Officer's (CITO) Fast Forward programme and is anticipated to become available to all UN Secretariat offices that are running IMIS.
The portal combines the simplicity of using any web browser together with a few straightforward menu choices for rendering staff data. From personnel and appointment profiles, dependants, addresses, personnel actions, bank accounts, salary entitlements, outstanding receivables and payments made to rental subsidy and leave records – all of the respective data is shown on the screen by a click on the appropriate option.
The portal goes a step further and provides options for generating a pdf file that can be saved or printed containing staff member’s personnel actions, as well as payslip information since he/she has joined the organization.
For those staff members that wonder what their rental subsidy might be either at their current duty station but with different rent amount or at any other UN duty station, the myIMIS offers Rental Subsidy Estimate option.
myIMIS also offers the Salary Simulator option for those staff members that want to simulate their salary at a different level or location.
myIMIS also makes available links to access IMIS reference documents that can help in day-to-day usage of IMIS or to repositories of documents and other UN web sites.
The myIMIS team is currently working on adding some extra options for reviewing medical insurance and education grant data.
The team is committed to making myIMIS a preferred choice of any staff member for reviewing and keeping up-to-date and accurate data.
